The creature's head, once we'd decided on a how it would look:
Here's James' first sketch of its body. You can see his notes on the sketch, showing what I was looking for. (Shorter legs, bigger, lumpier, boxier.)
James got to work. I liked how it was looking, so he shaded it.
After a break from the project, James decided to change the creature's position somewhat, which led to the first illustration on this page.
